Privacy policy
Last updated 3 October 2026
The short version:
- KIVO keeps your workouts so you can see your progress on any phone you sign in on.
- Health data is used for fitness only. It is never used for advertising and never sold or shared.
- There are no ads and no tracking across other apps or websites.
- You can delete your account from inside the app at any time. Your personal details are erased; training records are kept only anonymously.
Who we are
KIVO is a workout tracker for iPhone, Apple Watch and Android, made by Sahil Garg (“KIVO”, “we”). Questions about this policy or your data: support@kivofit.app.
What we collect
- Account: your email address or your Sign in with Apple ID (which can be a private relay address), and the name you choose to show.
- Training: the workouts you log (exercises, sets, weights, reps, times, notes), routines, exercises you create, body measurements you enter, and your settings such as units, rest time and weekly goal.
- Sign-in and security: a random ID for the phone you use KIVO on and its model name (for example “iPhone 15”), so that your account works on one phone at a time. If you create a passkey, we store its public key only; your Face ID, Touch ID or fingerprint never leaves your phone.
- How you use the app: which screens you open and what you tap (for example "started a workout" or "logged a set"), with the time, your phone type and the app version. We use this to understand what works and to improve KIVO. It is linked to your account, never used for advertising, and never shared. Raw logs are kept for 3 months, then archived.
- Health summaries, only if you turn them on: the average heart rate and active energy of each workout. This is off by default.
Apple Health and Health Connect
If you connect Apple Health (or Health Connect on Android), KIVO saves your workouts there and reads heart rate and active energy for those workouts. That data stays in Health and on your phone unless you switch on “Back up heart rate & energy to my KIVO account”; then only the per-workout averages above are stored with your account.
We use Health data only to show your training. We never use it for advertising or marketing, never sell it, never share it with third parties, and never use it to work out anything about you beyond your workouts. You can change Health access at any time in the Health app.
How we use your data
- To run the app: save and sync your workouts, show your history, records and suggestions for next time.
- To keep your account secure, including signing you out on an old phone when you sign in on a new one.
- To improve the exercise library. We look at totals across all users (for example, how many people use an exercise). An exercise used by fewer than three people is never shown in these totals.
- To answer you when you contact support.
Exercises you create are private to you. If you choose “Suggest for KIVO library”, we may review the exercise and publish a copy for everyone, without your name.
Sharing with your trainer (only if you choose)
If you enter a trainer’s code in the app (Settings → Trainer), that trainer can see your name, mobile number, workouts, sets and body measurements on the KIVO trainer portal, send you routines, and message or comment on your workouts. They never see your email address or password. You can unlink in the same screen at any time, and their access ends immediately. Messages between you and your trainer are deleted when you delete your account. Trainers are independent of KIVO; KIVO can pause a trainer’s access at any time.
What we don’t do
- No advertising and no advertising IDs.
- No tracking across other companies’ apps or websites. Activity logging stays inside KIVO.
- No selling or renting of your data.
Who processes your data for us
- Supabase hosts our database and sign-in. Your data is stored on their servers and protected so that only your account can read your workouts.
- Apple handles Sign in with Apple, passkeys and Face ID on your device, and delivers the app.
- Google delivers the Android app and handles passkeys on Android.
These providers process data only to run their part of the service.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while you have an account. Workouts are kept for at least two years (older ones may be archived, and still count for your records). App activity logs are kept for three months, then archived. Your phone keeps a limited copy of recent workouts so KIVO works offline; older ones load from your account when needed.
Deleting your account
In the app, go to Profile → Settings → Delete account. This permanently deletes your account and personal details (name, email address, mobile number, sign-in and devices) and signs you out everywhere.
Your training records (workouts, sets, measurements and app activity) are kept only in anonymous form: they are moved to a random identifier with no link to you, your name, email or phone, and are used only to improve KIVO. Workouts already saved in Apple Health stay there; you can remove them in the Health app. Exercises we previously published to the shared library stay in the library without your name. You can email support@kivofit.app to ask for a copy of your data before deleting.
Security
Data travels over encrypted connections. Your sign-in is kept in your phone’s secure keychain and is never copied to another device.
Children
KIVO is not meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their data. If you think a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date above, and tell you in the app when a change matters.
